Arthur is an 18-year-old boy diagnosed with CP, GMFCS III, along with autism. He is capable of both independent sitting and walking with the aid of a walking frame, but can also manage short distances without additional support. However, Arthur has contractures in his knee joints, making it difficult for him to fully extend from the knees and therefore restricting his ability to walk. Daily activity in the Innowalk has improved his ability to move around tremendously.
The Innowalk was recommended to Arthur two years ago by his physiotherapist at home as a potential therapy for improving his overall strength, mobility and balance.
From the beginning, Arthur’s physiotherapist had specific goals in mind and in particular, that he should develop increased functions for independent movement and walking. She highlighted the opportunity for intensive training the Innowalk device would provide as being really important for future therapeutic objectives.
“We see big changes for Arthur. His ability to move around has improved tremendously and he feels a lot stronger. He is happier and more content and enjoys the training. Due to the Innowalk I experience that Arthur has become much more physical active. As his physiotherapist I think it is very important to see effects for the user, something I truly see with regularly use of the Innowalk.”
